Tara Conner, current Miss USA, has been given a second chance at keeping her crown after reportedly spending too man late nights taking part in underage drinking and using cocaine.
"I saw somebody that had a good heart that really, really tried … She left a small town in Kentucky and she was telling me she got caught up in the whirlwind of New York," said Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, who also had planned to terminate Conner's reign before he met with her at 10 a. m. Tuesday morning.
Miss USA has agreed to enter into a rehabilitation clinic as a requirement to her keeping her title but does that mean anything anymore? With the rash of celebrities and notable figures entering similar programs (Mark Foley, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson, ad nauseum), only to be spat out and repeat the same behavior, wouldn't the clearer message and protection of the Miss USA image be to send her packing? Trump doesn't seem to think so.
"In the case of Tara she made some very, very bad choices … Some of those mistakes were bad mistakes. If she weren't a good person, I wouldn't have done this, believe me," Trump said.
Trump said that he has always been a believer of second chances and ". . . Tara is going to be given a second chance."
Who do you know that could use a second chance?
