Clay Aiken recently appeared as guest host on ABC's, "Live! With Regis and Kelly." During the broadcast, Aiken placed his hand over co-host Kelly Rippa's mouth. Rippa, obviously bothered by the action, told Aiken that was a "no no" and that she didn't "know where that hand has been." (It is possible that it has been on former military men's crotches.)
Later on "The View," the head overly opinionated woman Rosie O'Donell, spoke out publicly (unlike her) against Rippa's on-air homophobic remarks.
"Now, listen. To me, that's a homophobic remark." said O'Donell. "If that was a straight man, if that was a cute man, if that was a guy, who you know, she didn't question his sexuality, she would have said a different thing."
Rippa, watching the live taping of the show, called in to address O'Donnell's claims.
"I'm going to have to strongly strongly disagree. I think what you're saying is downright outragious. He reached across and covered my mouth with his hands. I have three kids. He's shaking hands with everybody in the audience. I mean, it's cold and flu season - that's what I meant and to imply that it's anything homophobic is outrageous, Rosie, and you know better. You should be more responsible."
